Prof. Kumara Dissanayake (D. M. A. Kumara) is Professor in Gynaecological Endoscopy at the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, and a driving force behind the Rajarata Gynaecological Endoscopy Center (RAGEC). His clinical research focuses on advancing minimally invasive, keyhole gynaecological surgery within Sri Lanka’s public health system.

1. Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy — a single-surgeon experience of the initial 80 cases

A descriptive cross-sectional study of 80 patients who underwent total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) for benign disease at a teaching hospital in Anuradhapura between September 2020 and October 2023. The most common symptomatic indications were secondary dysmenorrhoea, heavy menstrual bleeding and chronic pelvic pain, with adenomyosis and fibroids the leading underlying pathologies.
